New Delhi: The dates for the assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand have been announced. Leaving behind the defeat in Haryana, the Congress has once again started campaigning vigorously to win in both the states. Party leader Rahul Gandhi is once again enthusiastically going to election rallies to seek votes for the party. Rahul has once again reiterated the point of caste census along with protecting the Constitution. With this, Rahul Gandhi seems to be moving in a new direction in these elections.
Rahul criticizing Manusmriti
The special thing is that this time Rahul is also criticizing Manusmriti. After the displeasure of Dalit voters in Haryana, Congress has now made a new strategy. This time the party does not want to lose the votes of Dalits, backward and tribals at any cost. Rahul Gandhi also showed a glimpse of this in the ‘Samvidhan Samman Sammelan’ in Jharkhand. Rahul Gandhi said here that Manusmriti is an anti-constitution book. He said that the fight between the Constitution and Manusmriti has been going on for years.
Rahul said that even though the book of Constitution was written in 1949-1950, the thinking behind it is thousands of years old. It has been written on the basis of the thinking of great men like Lord Buddha, Guru Nanak, Baba Saheb Ambedkar, Birsa Munda, Narayan Guru and Basavana. If there were no such great men and their great thinking, the constitution would not have been created. This thinking is being attacked from all sides today. Today the question of protecting the constitution is the biggest.
Playing bets on caste census
Reiterating the resolution of caste census, Rahul Gandhi said that it is necessary because one percent of people are snatching the rights of 90 percent of the people of this country. The history of 90 percent of the people is being erased. He said that we will get the caste census done at any cost and along with this, we will end the limit of 50 percent reservation. Rahul was also seen trying to unite the tribals in his camp. Rahul said that there is not even a complete chapter about tribals in the school curriculum.
Attacking the BJP, the Congress leader said that these people call the tribals as forest dwellers. Their thinking behind this is that the tribals should be deprived of their rights. Tribals are those who came first on this earth. They have the first right on the resources. But by calling them forest dwellers, they are being described as living only in the forest.
The issue of OBC officers was raised again
In his address, Rahul said that the history of OBCs, farmers, labourers, carpenters, barbers, cobblers – all these people has not been written anywhere, whereas 90 percent of the people in India are these people. Rahul termed the bureaucratic structure of the country as discriminatory. He said that there are almost no Dalit, tribal and backward officers in big ministries. Officers from backward classes are 10 percent, Dalit officers are able to decide to spend only one rupee and tribal officers are able to take a decision to spend only 10 paise.
