Damoh: A shocking incident came to light from the rural police station area of ????Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh. Here, the people driving the buggy got punished for taking a Dalit groom around in a buggy. People of the upper caste chased and beat them. The victim somehow saved his life and reached the police station to complain. Know what is the whole matter.
Actually, there was a wedding in a Dalit family on Tuesday in Chaurai village of Jabalpur Naka police station of Damoh district. In the wedding procession, the groom was taken around in a horse carriage. This was not liked by the strongmen and upper caste people of the area.
The carriage owners got trapped by trusting the people
The people of Thakur community had warned the carriage owners before the wedding that Dalits are not allowed to ride horses, but some leaders of the area convinced the carriage owners. They also took full responsibility of their security. The carriage owners got convinced and made the Dalit groom sit in the carriage and got the wedding procession started.
The strongmen chased and beat them
The angry strongmen did not say anything to the groom and the wedding procession. However, as soon as they returned, they chased and beat up the young men with horses and carriages. After the beating, the victim youth reached the police station to save his life. The police first sent the young men injured by the beating to the district hospital for treatment. Then advised them to come and report in the morning. Now the police is investigating the whole matter.
Untouchability is not ending
Casteism and untouchability are still prevalent in the rural areas of Damoh. Dalit grooms are forbidden to ride horses and take out a wedding procession in buggies. When the wedding procession of Harijan Dalit grooms was taken out on buggies, disobeying the orders of the strongmen of the horse carriage area, the upper caste people got angry at this.
Young men were beaten up along with breaking the buggy
The buggy and the car were vandalized and the young men driving them were also beaten up. After the beating, they have complained to the Jabalpur Naka police of the rural police station. The outpost in-charge said that the entire matter is being investigated. Action will be taken as soon as the facts emerge. The young men driving the buggy are very hurt by the incident that happened with them in Chaurai village.
