Dalits in AP Unsafe, Says YSRC’s Kanakaraju

Andhra Pradesh, Vijayawada: Former SC corporation chairman and YSRC leader Kommuri Kanakaraju on Wednesday sought to underline that Dalits are unsafe under the administration of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

He informed media that there have been continuous incidents of caste-based discrimination and violence targeting Dalits across the state. “In particular, the attacks on people of scheduled caste communities in Adoni and Pathikonda are unforgettable,” he remarked.
The YSR Congress leader went on to point out that a Dalit lecturer had been attacked by a Jana Sena MLA in Kakinada. In this regard, he questioned the effectiveness of AP home minister
Vangalapudi Anitha. He charged that despite herself being a Dalit, she has been unable to protect SCs from persecution and violence.
Kanakaraju asked the Dalit community to unite and resist the oppression unleashed against SCs. He maintained that AP is not Swarnandhra but a place unsafe for Dalits.
