Mayawati says that the unfortunate incidents like Parbhani happened as a sad result of disrespect/insult of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the original architect of the Indian Constitution and the inferiority complex towards his crores of followers. Two people were killed in the violence in Parbhani, Maharashtra.

Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati targeted the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi over his visit to violence-affected Parbhani in Maharashtra. Terming it crocodile tears, she said that the attitude of the Congress towards Baba Saheb and his followers has always been casteist and contemptuous during his lifetime and even after his death. They remember Dalits and backward classes only in their bad times.

Mayawati wrote on social media platform X on Monday, ‘The unfortunate incidents like Parbhani happened as a sad result of disrespect/insult of the original architect of the Indian Constitution, Param Pujya Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and the feeling of inferiority towards his crores of followers. It is proved that Congress and BJP etc. are not their true well-wishers, everyone’s intentions and policies are flawed.’

‘Rahul Gandhi’s visit is crocodile tears’

She further wrote, ‘Today’s visit of the Congress leader regarding the Parbhani incident is crocodile tears, because the attitude of the Congress towards the interests and welfare of Baba Saheb and his followers has always been casteist and contemptuous, even during his lifetime and after his death. They remember the Dalits and backward classes only in their bad times.’

BSP will protest across the country

Former CM Mayawati further said, ‘In the same sequence, BSP appeals to the entire society to make the peaceful dharna-demonstration at the district headquarters across the country successful, demanding the Union Home Minister to withdraw the anti-Baba Saheb remarks in Parliament. Caution is necessary against those who do deceptive politics in the name of Baba Saheb.’

In his last post, he wrote, ‘The Ambedkarite self-respect movement of BSP is a political mission to make the ‘Bahujan Samaj’ the ruling class through votes, while other parties keep pretending to be Ambedkarites only for the sake of their votes. In the interests of Dalits/Bahujans, Ram in their mouth is like a knife in their armpit.’

Violence had erupted in Maharashtra

It is worth noting that violence had erupted in Parbhani, Maharashtra on the evening of 10 December after the replica of the Constitution was damaged near the statue of Baba Saheb Ambedkar. Rahul Gandhi is going here on Monday. During this time, he will meet the families of Somnath Suryavanshi and Vijay Wakode who were killed in the alleged violence.
