Dalit teenager raped in Mahoba, accused youth arrested

A youth has been arrested on charges of raping a Dalit teenager in Kabrai area of ????Mahoba district of Uttar Pradesh. Police gave this information. Inspector-in-charge (SHO) of Kabrai police station Nagendra Kumar Nagar said on Sunday that a widow woman living in a village in the police station area has alleged in her complaint that on Saturday night she was sleeping with her younger son, when she woke up at around two o’clock, her 16-year-old daughter was not at home. She searched for her daughter throughout the night, but she was not found.

On the basis of the FIR lodged, the SHO said that on Sunday morning her daughter reached home scared and told the whole incident to her mother. After this, a case has been registered in the police station against Arjun Kushwaha, a youth from Parsaha village, under rape, POCSO Act and Scheduled Castes and Tribes Act.

Nagar said that the victim told the police that the accused Arjun Kushwaha is employed as a lineman in the electricity department and he often comes to the victim’s village to repair electricity, due to which he became acquainted with her.

According to the police, he (the accused) called the victim out of the house on Saturday night and then took her to a government tubewell complex and raped her. The SHO said that the victim has been medically examined and the accused youth has been arrested from his village on Sunday evening. He will be produced in the concerned court on Monday.
