Dalit teenager raped, rape in banbasa A case of rape of a Dalit teenager has come to light in Banbasa. The police have arrested the accused from Nainital.

Champawat: A case of rape of a Dalit teenager by a youth of a particular community has come to light in a village in Banbasa area. A case has been registered with the police in the entire matter and the accused youth has been arrested from Nainital.

According to the police, a person from a village in Banbasa police station area gave a complaint to the police on August 1 and told that on the night of August 31, a youth of a particular community raped his niece. He also threatened to kill him and his family if he informed anyone about this. As soon as the complaint was received, the police registered a case and took it seriously as it was a matter between two communities and arrested the accused Afshar (21), a resident of Banbasa. It is being told that the accused was living with his brother-in-law. As soon as the information about the case was received, the SP formed a team under the guidance of CO and leadership of SO Banbasa and instructed to arrest the accused immediately.

Banbasa SHO Laxman Singh Jagwan said that a team was formed to arrest the accused and immediate action was taken on the basis of location and the accused was arrested from Padampuri in Nainital district on Friday. A case has been registered against Afsar under sections 65(1), 351(3), BNS and 3/4 POCSO Act.

CO Shivraj Singh Rana said that the complaint of this case was received by Banbasa police on Thursday, after which the police took immediate action and arrested the accused Afsar Khan son of late Aftab resident of Naugaon Pakadia district Pilibhit Uttar Pradesh, currently resident of Banbasa district Champawat from Mukteshwar Nainital Padampuri. A case has been registered against the accused under sections 65(1), 351(3), BNS and 3/4 POCSO Act and he is being presented in the court.
