Dalit student was assaulted and abused, case registered

A case of assault and caste based abuses against a Dalit student has been registered in Nokha police station. Bhinyaram Nayak, resident of Maiyasar, filed a case against his grandson Manoj, aged 8 years, son of Madanlal Jati Nayak, resident of Maiyasar, who is studying in class 4 in Government Uppriya Maiyasar.

On January 23, after half holiday, his son went back to school at around 1.30 pm. When he reached the school gate, Budhsingh Rajput, a resident of Maiyasar, was under the influence of alcohol. Budhsingh abused his grandson Manoj and used iron rods. Beaten with wire. His grandson got hurt and Budh Singh made caste based abuses and made threats. Hearing the noise, the school master intervened and rescued him.
