A Dalit youth who was caught on the charge of bike theft in Firozabad died in the district jail. There was a lot of uproar in this case. Many leaders also cornered the government on this. Now in this case, the deceased’s friend has made a big disclosure.
Firozabad: A new twist has come in the case of the death of a Dalit prisoner in the jail on 21st June in the district. The other prisoner who went to jail with the deceased alleges that he was tortured in the district jail for not paying the dues. The deceased’s friend also claimed that the deceased himself had told him this and he was also trying to get his barrack changed. However, the jail administration claims that the investigation going on in this case will reveal everything.
Let us tell you that on 21st June, Dalit youth Akash son of Veeri Singh resident of Nagla Pachiya police station South, who was lodged in the district jail, died. Akash was arrested on June 18 for bike theft. The jail administration claimed that Akash suddenly had stomach pain. He was sent to the district hospital where he died. People angry with this incident created a ruckus. The family members alleged that Akash died due to beating. The family members blocked the road. The protesters clashed with the police who went to clear the jam. Many people were injured in the case of stone pelting, firing and arson.
The administration pacified the matter by giving a cheque of Rs 5 lakh. A case has also been registered against 117 people for creating a ruckus. A new twist came in this case when the post-mortem report confirmed that Akash had 14 injury marks on his body. He had head injury and injury marks below the eye, neck and shoulder. After the post-mortem report, the father has once again alleged that his son has been murdered. Strict action should be taken against the guilty policemen. This case took another turn when Aakash’s friend Shivam, who was released from jail, claimed that Aakash died due to beating and he was beaten in jail. Aakash was being pressurized for hard work. When he did not give money, he was beaten. Shivam also told that Aakash himself told him this the next day. Aakash was very upset and was demanding to change the barrack. Now the police is also in a defensive position. The jail officials are avoiding saying anything directly. Jail Superintendent A.K. Singh says that everything will be clear after the magisterial inquiry of this case.
