Dalit man tied to pole, thrashed by upper-caste men in K’taka; 15 arrested

The Karnataka Police arrested 15 people for allegedly assaulting a Dalit man, Sagar, during an annual fair in Vijayapura district.

According to the police, Sagar was drunk when a scuffle broke out after he questioned the upper-caste men for stopping the music during the festival. The men then tied him to a pole and thrashed him.
