Dalit man attacked over land row dies
Jaisalmer: A 29-year-old Dalit man who was attacked in a land dispute at a village in Barmer district late on Saturday night died during treatment at a hospital in Jodhpur in the wee hours of Sunday. Four people have been detained in the case.
Police said Pemaram, a resident of Dungarapura Sanau village in Chauhatan police station area of Barmer district, was attacked with sharp weapons in the village.
Pemaram’s father, Balwantaram, said in a complaint he lodged with police that Pemaram was attacked when he was going to meet his neighbour on Saturday evening. About seven people attacked him with sharp weapons, leaving him severely injured on his head, legs and hands, he said. tnn
