Dalit girl gang-raped, kidnapped, strangled, three arrested
Uttar Pradesh: A Dalit girl died of severe injuries after being gang-raped in Chitrakoot in Uttar Pradesh. Police arrested the three in the wake of this. The girl was kidnapped and gang raped while sleeping outside the house.
A 13-year-old Dalit girl was gang-raped to death in Uttar Pradesh’s Chitrakoot district on Wednesday, police said. The girl, a resident of Pahadi police station area, was gang-raped while sleeping outside her house with her family on Wednesday night, Superintendent of Police Atul Sharma told PTI.
Her post-mortem report confirmed that the rape victim had been strangled. Police said Sunday that the autopsy report was received late Saturday and confirmed that the girl had been raped. The girl, who was sleeping outside, went missing on Wednesday night and was found with both hands tied on Thursday. Sharma said three persons, Nadeem, Adarsh ??Pandey and Vipul Mishra, were arrested in the incident.
Minor abduction, gang-rape
Tensions are high in Chitrakoot over allegations that a Dalit minor girl was kidnapped and gang-raped inside the Pahadi police station. According to the victim’s family, the victim was sleeping outside her home when a young man, Cooley, broke into their home and abducted the girl. The accused then took the victim to a nearby field and raped her.
Family members told police they began searching for the victim as she was not seen outside the home. She was rushed to a hospital in Kaushambi for treatment. However, police said the girl died on Thursday night with serious injuries. Details of the autopsy report were confirmed by Pahadi Police Station SHO Ajit Pandey.
The accused also went to the hospital along with the girl’s relatives, police sources said. However, the family members did not immediately inform the police about the incident and took her to Kaushambi district for treatment, police said. The SP said the family had not told anyone about the incident and that her body had been brought in on Friday. Police said they were examining the CCTV footage.
