CPI leader demands SC\ST Atrocities Act case against TRS MLC for abusing Dalits

KARIMNAGAR : CPI district secretary Marri Venkat Swamy has demanded that the government should register an SC\ST Atrocities Act case against the Huzurabad TRS leader and MLC Paadi Kaushik Reddy for abusing Dalits in the name of caste.

Alleging that the MLC was reigning terror in the Huzurabad assembly segment by resorting to hooliganism and threatening people with dire consequences, he said that recently he had conducted a meeting with ZPTC members and MPTC members of the Huzurabad assembly segment and forced all the participants to switch off their mobile phones and accused the Dalits in a filthy language.

Freshly, the MLC had insulted ZP chairperson K Vijaya, who belongs to the Dalit community forcing her to cry at the TRS district general body meeting in Karimnagar town on Friday. He appealed to the Dalits to chase away MLC if visits the villages.

Talking to newsmen here on Saturday (November 19, 2022), Mr Venkat Swamy said that the MLC was acting as if the Dalit bandhu amount was given from his own pocket. He said that the MLC was abusing that the Dalits were not with TRS in spite of collecting money and supporting other parties. He reminded that the Dalit local bodies’ leaders opposed his remarks and demanded withdrawal of his remarks.

But, his supporters Pradeep Reddy from Shanigaram of Kamalapur mandal and Venkat Reddy from Shambupalli village stated that they would abuse and say it 100 times, he alleged. Condemning the adamant and anti-Dalit statements of the MLC, the CPI secretary called upon all the Dalits to unite and chase away the MLC if he visits the village. CPI leaders B Ashok, KC Reddy, Surender Reddy, Paidipalli Raju, K Mallavva, B Padma and others were also present.
