Chhattisgarh News: Big decision taken in steering committee meeting, Dalit tribal will get representation in CWC

Congress Steering Committee Meet: Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge said that everyone should openly raise issues related to the public during the convention.

Raipur News: In the meeting of the steering committee of Congress on Friday, it was decided that what issues will be discussed in the party’s national convention. The decided issues have been included in the agenda of the national convention. Apart from this, a decision has also been taken regarding the election of the CWC. In the steering committee, the national president of the party has been authorized to select the members of the CWC. Mallikarjun Kharge can now choose the members of the CWC himself. There will be no separate election for this.

In fact, a very important meeting of the Congress Steering Committee has taken place on the first day of the Congress National Convention being held in Raipur. All the members of the steering committee attended this meeting. Although, the Gandhi family did not attend this meeting, but the agenda of the general session has been finalized in the meeting. In particular, it has also been decided to amend the constitution of the party for the member of CWC. The latest update is that the Congress party has decided to give more representation to the weaker sections in the CWC.

Dalit tribals will now be members in CWC

After the steering committee meeting, Jairam Ramesh told the press briefing in the media hall at the convention venue that Dalits, tribals, OBCs, minorities, women and youth will get more representation in the Congress Working Committee. This will be ensured by amending the Congress constitution. We have authorized the National President of the Congress to select the members of the CWC there itself. For this we all have handed over our rights to them. At present, we are going to amend the constitution of the party so that their representation in the provisions of the party for the weaker sections will be protected.

These issues will be discussed in the general session

In today’s important meeting, 4 major agendas have been included. The first topic is the election of the CWC. Our second topic is to decide the agenda of the 85th Congress and the third topic is to amend the constitution of the Congress party. For this, the committee headed by Ambika Soni will put before you the necessary amendment related suggestions in front of everyone in the general session. The last and most important agenda has been fixed for discussion on 6 topics in this convention. It includes political, economic, international issues, farmers and farm workers, social justice and youth upliftment.

National President gave this advice

After the meeting, the statement of Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge has also come to the fore. He said that in the history of Chhattisgarh, this Congress convention is being held to prepare the road map for the assembly elections of half a dozen states and then for the general elections of 2024. To do this is a big challenge and also a big opportunity for us. Therefore, I request all of you friends to keep your words openly and keeping the practical side in mind. Keep those things, which are directly related to the issues of the public. So that a concrete message and signal goes to the grassroots colleagues. We collectively have to take many decisions here, on which the future of our party and all of us is linked.
