Celebrated 5th Dalit Literature Day; Like Bihar, caste census is demanded in other states also.
The fifth Dalit Literature Day was celebrated on Friday at the Passenger Information and Facilitation Center located in Kurukshetra, Pipli. Dr. Sohanpal Sumanakshar, National President of Bharatiya Dalit Sahitya Akademi was the chief guest and National General Secretary Jai Sumanakshar participated as special guest.
Dr. Sohanpal Sumanakshar congratulated the Academy on completion of 38 years of its establishment and highlighted the journey of the Academy in bringing Dalit literature to the masses. He said that the Dalit literature taught in schools, colleges and universities of the country is the contribution of Indian Dalit literature. The academy was established in 1984. Dr. Sohanpal Sumanakshar said that the Academy has expanded its activities to every corner of the country during the 38 years since its establishment. Across 35 states, the branches are working with a grassroots network spanning from state to districts, tehsils to block level, comprising around 5 lakh creative and active thinkers, social workers, writers, scholars, journalists, historians. Awareness is being spread among the Dalit masses, weaker sections and oppressed people of the country through Dalit literature and public meetings, conferences, seminars, seminars, rallies, sports and writing competitions, exhibitions.
He said that the Academy, which is basically a non-political institution, has planned to handle the Dalit awakening movement in a scientific manner by providing guidance to writers, poets, playwrights, journalists, novelists, storytellers, litterateurs and social workers through the media. Is made. On this occasion, State President Gurdayal Singh Morthala, State General Secretary Jarnail Singh Ranga, State Member Chief Branch Manager BK Bhaskar, Executive District President Gurpreet Singh, Harbansh Singh, Virendra Roy, Ashok Sunehdi, Mahipal Amin and Naseeb Singh were present. Caste census should be conducted in all the states: National President of Dr. Sumanakshar Academy has demanded the Government of India to conduct caste census in the Center and other states also like Bihar. Caste census will reveal the correct figures of SC/ST/BC population in India. Only then will the person whose number is greater be able to get his share. By conducting caste census honestly, SC-ST, BC of India will get their share.
