The government has decided to continue with its capex push and announced a 11 per cent increase in outlay to Rs 11.1 lakh crore in the next financial year. The prime minister said that this will create millions of new employment opportunities for the youth along with creation of modern infrastructure.
Notably, the budget for capex has increased from around Rs 3 lakh crore in FY20 to Rs 11.1 lakh crore. While the budget was just an interim spending bill till the next government is sworn in following the 2024 elections, PM Modi said that it is not just an interim budget. “It is not merely an interim budget but an inclusive and innovative budget.”
Asserting that the intent and measures announced in the budget will boost aspirations of youth in the country, the prime minister said in his address, “This budget will empower all pillars of developed India – the youth, the poor, women, and farmers.
