Bijnor News: Three years imprisonment in case of Dalit assault

Bijnor. Special Judge SC-ST Act Awadhesh Kumar sentenced Pradeep Kumar, Navneet Kumar and Golu alias Chandradeep to three years imprisonment and fine of five thousand rupees in case of Dalit assault.

Vijaypal, resident of village Chakarpur, had filed a report that he belongs to Scheduled Caste and works as a labourer. His four sons also work as labourers with him.

On 14 September 2015, his sons had set up a chess shop in Jahar Diwan fair. On this day, Golu had quarreled with his sons. The people of the village had decided the case. On 15 September, Golu stopped him and insulted him with casteist words and abused him.

Golu’s uncle Navneet and uncle Pradeep also came. These people also abused him and beat him with sticks. When his son Ravi and his wife Guddi came to save him, they were also beaten up. In this case, the court found Navneet, Pradeep and Golu guilty of assaulting Vijaypal and his family and sentenced them.
