Ayodhya Ram Mandir consecration: Dalits to tribals – 15 couples to be ‘yajmans’ for ‘pran prathistha’ of Ram Lalla idol
As yajmans, these couples will perform rituals during the Ram temple consecration ceremony in the presence of other dignitaries, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and others on January 22.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust on Saturday said that 15 couples from different castes and sections from all over the country will perform the duty of “yajmans” (hosts) during the grand “pran prathistha” of the Ram Lalla idol in Ayodhya on January 22. The couples will include Dalits, tribals, OBCs, among others, reports The Indian Express.
While the Trust shared a list of 14 names, it said that it will announce one name later.
As yajmans, these couples will perform rituals during the Ram temple consecration ceremony in the presence of other dignitaries, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and others on January 22.
The 14 names are Ramchandra Kharadi, who is the president of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, an affiliate of RSS. Hailing from Udaipur, he comes from the tribal community. Three yajmas are from Varanasi, the constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They are Anil Chaudhary, dom raja of Kashi. Doms are the people who have been lighting pyres for generations at Manikarnika and Harishachandra Ghats in Varanasi. They claim to be “inheritor of the legacy of mythological king Kaaloo Dom”
The other two people from Varanasi are Kailash Yadav and Kaveendra Pratap Singh.
Ram Kui Jemi of Assam, Lingraj Vasavaraj Appa from Karnataka’s Kalaburagi, Krishna Mohan (Hardoi, from Ravidasi samaj), Sardar Guru Charan Singh Gill from Jaipur, Vitthalrao Kamble from Mumbai, Mahadev Rao Gaikwad (Latur, Ghumantu samaj trustee), Ramesh Jain from Multani, Adalarasan from Tamil Nadu and Arun Chaudhary from Palwal in Haryana.
The “pradhan yajman” for the ‘pran prathistha’ ceremony are RSS leader Anil Mishra, member of the organisation’s Awadh wing, and wife Usha who will perform the rituals leading upto the consecration event.
