Attempt to rape a Dalit girl in Sonbhadra: The victim appealed to the CO for justice, the young man had forcibly entered the house.

A 38-year-old youth made an unsuccessful attempt to rape a 19-year-old Dalit girl at 4:30 pm on Tuesday evening in a village in Duddhi Kotwali area of Sonbhadra. The accused tried to target her when she was alone at home.

The victim informed CO Pradeep Singh Chandel through a complaint that a young man from the same village came into the house when she was sewing clothes on the sewing machine. It is alleged that the young man stuffed a cloth in the girl’s mouth, started touching her private parts while performing obscene acts and also tore the girl’s clothes by force. When the cloth was removed from the mouth of the girl who was trying to free herself from the grip of the young man, she screamed. Hearing this, his mother reached there, after which the young man threatened and ran away from there due to fear of being caught.
The family members immediately informed the police about the incident.

When the victim reached the police station in the town on Wednesday morning, she was suggested to go to the Rajkhar police station. After this the victim reached the CO office with her mother.
The victim narrated her ordeal to CO Pradeep Singh Chandel and pleaded for justice. During this, the girl also showed the torn clothes which the young man had torn during obscene acts. Taking the matter seriously, the CO has given instructions to investigate the matter and register a case.
