Atrocities against Dalits is increasing in Rajasthan, these figures of five years will surprise you

Meanwhile, in the last five years, the number of cases registered under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities Act) has increased rapidly in the state. The great thing is that the cases which were 6,329 in the year 2016, have increased to 8,744 in 2020. Actually this information has been received in reply to a question in Lok Sabha. It is noteworthy that Ramdas Athawale, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, gave this reply in the Lok Sabha on December 14 regarding the case registered against SC and ST in atrocities.

This is the figure for five years
According to this 6,329 cases were registered in Rajasthan under Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Prevention). Atrocities Act in 2016); 5222 cases were registered in 2017. In 2018, 5563 cases were registered. 8418 cases were registered in 2019. In 2020, 8,744 cases were registered.
Decline in conviction rate
However, the conviction rate in such cases has declined. If we look at the figures, in 2019, 1,121 convicts were convicted in such cases. In 2020 this number has come down to 686. That is, in a total of 8,744 cases registered in a single year, the conviction rate has been 7.84 percent, which is the lowest in five years.
In the cases from 2016 to 20, so many convictions were proved
Meanwhile in 2016, crimes against SCs and STs resulted in conviction in 680 cases, which is 10.74% of the total cases registered in the same year. Similarly, 1,845 convictions have been proved in the case registered in 2017. In 2018, 712 cases, in 2019 1,121 and in 2020, 686 cases were convicted.

In this, inter-caste marriage at many places and sometimes the fight for equality came to the fore. Recently there was a shocking revelation of Dalit atrocities in Udaipur. Here in the village of Salera Khurd, the house of a young man named Narendra was guarded by the police for 24 hours. His only fault was that in his own marriage, he took out a bindoli on the mare. Just this thing did not go down well with the domineering of the village. On November 27, Bindoli was pelted with stones. After this, he also beat up the family members.
