In Baharampur village of Khandauli police station area of Agra, two Dalit laborers were tied to an electric pole and beaten for forcibly removing the wires installed in their fields. The victims kept circling the police station for two days. Now the police have registered a case of murderous attack and SC-ST against the accused. The attackers are being searched.
The farms of Arvind Pal Singh, resident of Balkeshwar, Agra, and Arvind Sikarwar, resident of Baharampur, Khandauli, are located side by side in Baharampur. The dispute over some part of the farm has been going on for a long time. Some time ago, Arvind Sikarwar had installed poles on the disputed land with wires. On May 12, Arvind Pal had sent Mulayam Singh, a farm laborer, resident of Radha Nagar, Balkeshwar, to Baharampur farm. Mulayam Singh and his associate Mangesh Singh opened the wires from the disputed land.
On getting information about this, Arvind Sikarwar reached the spot with his sons Deepak and Rupesh. It is alleged that Arvind Sikarwar and his sons attacked Mulayam Singh and Mangesh with sticks. Using caste based words, they tied them to an electric pole and beat them badly. When there was an outcry, the nearby villagers somehow managed to free both the workers. The police continued to escort the victims for two days.
On Monday night, on the complaint of Mulayam Singh, a case of murderous attack, SC-ST was registered against the father and sons. The station in-charge said that a report has been registered against the accused and investigation is being done. The accused will be arrested soon.
