At present there is peace in Kopardi village and police force has been deployed in the village.

Sub-divisional police officer Vivekanand Wakhare gave this information. Wakhare is investigating this crime. Due to this incident Kopardi village has once again come into limelight. In 2016, there was a national reaction to the incident of rape and murder of a minor girl in Kopardi.

Two days ago, Vitthal alias Nitin Kantilal Shinde (37) was beaten up by caste-related people after he danced in a tamasha in Kopardi village. After this there was chaos and the show was stopped. When Nitin was returning home, three people stopped him on the road and took him to the village graveyard, stripped him of his clothes, beat him and snatched his mobile phone.

The next day he sent a message home and asked for clothes from the family and then he came home. Hurt by this incident, Nitin committed suicide by hanging himself at home the next day on Thursday afternoon. Before committing suicide, he had written a note about the incident.

In this regard, according to the complaint of Nitin’s father Kantilal Shinde, a case has been registered under the Atrocity Act against Dinesh alias Bunty Babasaheb Sudrick, Swapnil Baban Sudrick and Vaibhav Madhukar Sudrick (all three Kopardi, Karjat). Two accused in the incident have been arrested in the night itself. He will be presented before the court today.
