Accused arrested under SC-ST Act: wanted to marry Dalit widow’s daughter forcibly

Police has arrested an accused under SC-ST Dalit Atrocities Prevention Act from Kila premises. The accused, who was pressurizing to marry a Dalit widow’s daughter forcibly, had threatened the family members and also beaten them. After the arrest, the accused was produced in the court, from where he was sent to jail.
Baadi CO Office Reader Bahadur Singh said that on May 30, a Dalit widow living in a colony on Dholpur Road in the city had lodged a report in Kotwali police station that the accused Akash Yadav, son of Mukesh Yadav, resident of Kila premises, wants to marry her daughter forcibly. He molests her daughter forcibly on the way. He also creates a ruckus at home. The accused has also broken the electricity meter of their house and is also threatening them.
In this case, CO Narendra Kumar formed a team of Kotwali ASI Jitendra Singh, Office Reader Bahadur Singh, Constable Gyanendra Kumar, Ramkesh, Shyam Singh, Kalim Khan, Mahesh Chandra and Horilal for investigation. They were searching for the accused. On Thursday, the team arrested the accused from the street near the Senior Secondary School on the information of the informer.
