Deaf, mute Dalit woman gang-raped in Rajasthan’s Barmer

A deaf and mute Dalit woman was allegedly gang-raped by a group of 4 to 5 men in Rajasthan’s Barmer district on Thursday. The 20-year-old woman was abducted and taken to an isolated place where she was raped.

The incident happened when the woman had gone to graze goats in a field in Dhorimanna around 7 pm on Thursday. The accused, who came riding in a Bolero car, caught hold of the woman and raped her. They fled the spot, after seeing the villagers.

Meanwhile, the woman who was injured was taken to a hospital where she is undergoing treatment.

HUNT ON FOR ACCUSED

Dhorimanna SHO Sukhram Vishnoi said, “The woman has been admitted to the hospital and is currently being treated. Police teams have been formed to nab the accused.”

Meanwhile, Barmer SP Deepak Bhargava said that nothing can be said clearly as of now as the woman is unable to speak anything. At present, the police are searching for the accused by conducting raids at places.
