Transgenders can change gender for free! Important changes in Ayushman card IV news

And one of these changes is special benefits for transgenders. A-Besides, the Ayushman card will be linked to the Center’s flagship health schemes as well as the names of the people in the states and the names of the state’s flagship health schemes. That is, it will be done as a co-brand.
According to the sources, the transgenders are going to get various benefits as a result of this new change. One of which is, they can undergo free sex reassignment surgery.
In fact, currently no hospital in our country provides this type of surgery for free. Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya said that by changing the new Ayushman card, transgenders will get free medical services up to five lakh rupees under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
Ayushman Card:
All states and Union Territories, except Delhi, West Bengal and Odisha, have agreed to co-brand Ayushman cards in this new shift. And after its implementation, its name will be changed to ‘Ayushman Card’. The National Health Authority (NHA) is working to implement the ‘Beneficiary Card’ issued under this scheme. Apart from this, it has also been decided to bring more integrity and uniformity to this card.
Some Important Information About Ayushman Card:
So far 14.12 crore Ayushman cards have been issued under this scheme. Not only that, about 18.81 crore people have been verified under this scheme till August 17.
Beneficiaries will get full financial assistance from the Center for issuing co-branded cards. The health ministry said that the authorities will provide full financial support under the state scheme as well as the central scheme.
Beneficiary families under Ayushman are given health coverage up to Rs 5 lakh per annum. It will benefit from 1949 medical procedures.
What will change?
A statement from the Ministry of Health informed that this card will be bilingual. That means the card will have English and local language. The new card will keep equal space for both Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) and state-specific people. It will have the name of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana as well as Rajya Yojana.
Why is this change being made?
The Ministry’s statement in this context, our main goal now is to bring more uniformity in this card by joining hands with the states. The statement also said that NHA is in regular talks with states to issue co-branded cards. Most of the states in the country, barring a few, have adopted the co-branding guidelines.
