Rahul to hold three rallies, starting today
New Delhi: Campaigning for Congress in the assembly polls, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will address three rallies in the city this week. On Jan 22, the rally, which will start from the Inderlok metro station at 5 pm, will be held in the Sadar constituency. The other rallies will be held in Mustafabad on Jan 23 and in Madipur the next day.
The elections are scheduled in Delhi on Feb 5.
Announcing Gandhi’s rallies during a press conference at the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee’s office, former minister Narendra Nath said that Rahul Gandhi would speak about the issues affecting the people of Delhi. “He will highlight why Kejriwal govt and BJP failed to address the many ills afflicting the capital for the past 11 years. He will also ask them why they did not conduct a caste census and get Dalits their deserving dues,” said Nath.
While opening his campaign for the Delhi assembly elections on Jan 13 from Seelampur, Gandhi accused both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal of undermining the interests of minorities and backward communities. He challenged Kejriwal to clarify his stance on backward class reservation and the caste census.
“Both want backward communities, Dalits, tribals, and minorities to not get their rights,” he stated. tnn
