Dalit activists belonging to Yuva Vikas Morcha, Phagwara, headed by its president Anu Sahota today burnt an effigy of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Hargobind Nagar to protest over his alleged remarks against Dr BR Ambedkar in parliament.
Congress MLA from Phagwara Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal also participated in the protest. Later, they carried out a protest march from Ambedkar Park to the bus stand. The march culminated back at Ambedkar Park.
Meanwhile, activists of Ambedkar Sena Moolniwasi, Phagwara, led by district president Dharamveer Boudh, also protested against the Home Minister’s remarks. A march was carried out from Ambedkar Park to Gol Chowk and legal action sought against the Union Home Minister. The protesters burnt an effigy of Amit Shah at Gol Chowk, Phagwara.
The activists belonging to Guru Ravi Dass Tiger Force also staged protest against Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his alleged derogatory remarks about Dr Ambedkar. They later burnt an effigy of the Union Home Minister.
