State to roll out clinics for transgenders

Hyderabad: The Telangana department for empowerment of persons with disabilities has announced establishment of ‘Mythri Trans Clinics’, marking the first comprehensive statewide healthcare system for transgenders.

The initiative in collaboration with the health department, involves setting up of dedicated clinics in all 33 district hospitals. Each clinic will operate on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am to 1:00pm. The clinics will be staffed by doctors and counsellors.tnn
