Life imprisonment to the accused of raping a Dalit teenager in Kaushambi; FIR lodged against railway employee for attempted rape in Bareilly

A Dalit teenager was raped in Kaushambi on 27 February 2022. The court sentenced the accused to life imprisonment.

Kaushambi: The court of Special Judge POCSO Ashok Kumar Srivastava in the district convicted the accused of raping a Dalit teenager and sentenced him to life imprisonment on Thursday. Along with this, a fine of Rs 23 thousand was also imposed. The entire amount was ordered to be given to the victim as compensation.

According to the prosecution, the mother of the victim minor girl, resident of Jahangirabad of Kada Dham police station area, had given a complaint in the Kadadham police station that on 27 February 2022, Shamsher Ahmed son Rashid Ahmed resident of Ghosiana Habbu Nagar of the village first lured her minor girl and ran away. When she came to know about this, she went to the house of the accused. The accused and his father abused her and drove her away.

Based on the woman’s complaint, a case was registered in Kadadham police station. The case was heard in the court of Special Judge POCSO Ashok Kumar Srivastava. On behalf of the state, Government Advocate Shashank Khare got a total of 6 villages examined in the court. After hearing the statements of witnesses and examining the file, the accused Shamsher Ahmed was sentenced to life imprisonment and a fine of 23 thousand. The entire amount was ordered to be given to the victim as compensation. If the money is not deposited, an additional 6 months of imprisonment will have to be served.

Attempted rape in Bareilly, FIR registered against railway employee

Bareilly: A deaf and dumb woman living in Baradari police station area has filed a case of molestation and attempted rape against an employee posted as a peon in the railways. The police have registered a case against the peon posted in Moradabad DRM office and started investigation. The deaf and dumb woman alleges that the accused was harassing her for a long time. He came to her house on the pretext of wishing her on Diwali and molested her and attempted rape. The police have registered a case against the accused.
