Conspiracy to divide and fight Dalits… Mayawati lashes out at Haryana government’s decision on reservation

The new BJP government of Haryana decided to implement classification in Scheduled Caste reservation. Mayawati called it a conspiracy to divide Dalits and end reservation. She also questioned the central leadership of BJP. The Supreme Court had allowed sub-classification of Scheduled Castes.

Lucknow: Nayab Singh Saini government of Haryana decided to implement sub-classification in Scheduled Caste reservation in its very first cabinet meeting. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo and former UP CM Mayawati reacted to this decision of the Haryana government. Targeting the BJP, she called it a decision to end reservation. Expressing displeasure over the decision of the BJP government of Haryana, she said that the decision to implement a new system of quota within the reservation quota is a conspiracy to divide the Dalits again and keep them fighting among themselves. This is not only an anti-Dalit, but a completely anti-reservation decision.

BSP chief Mayawati wrote on social media platform X on Friday, “The decision of the new BJP government of Haryana to implement classification in the reservation of SC community, that is, to implement a new system of quota within the reservation quota, is a conspiracy to divide the Dalits again and keep them fighting among themselves. This is not only an anti-Dalit but also a deeply anti-reservation decision.” In another post, she wrote, “The fact that the central leadership of BJP did not come forward to stop the Haryana government from doing this also proves that like the Congress, BJP is also engaged in a conspiracy to first make the reservation inactive and ineffective and ultimately end it, which is extremely unfair and BSP is strongly opposed to it. In fact, BSP is the name of the struggle against the ‘divide and rule’ conspiracy of casteist parties in the SC-ST and OBC society and their anti-reservation conspiracy etc. Our struggle to organize and unite these classes and make them the ruling class will continue.” Let us tell you that in August this year, a seven-judge Constitution Bench headed by CJI DY Chandrachud had allowed the sub-classification of Scheduled Castes. So that separate quota can be provided for more backward groups within the Scheduled Castes. After the formation of BJP government for the third time in Haryana, on Friday, CM Naib Singh Saini implemented the decision of quota within quota in Scheduled Caste reservation in the first cabinet meeting, implementing the decision of the Supreme Court.
