MP News: Burned alive by pouring petrol, girl dies, son of molestation accused had set her on fire; know the case

Khandwa Crime: This heart-wrenching incident is from Khandwa district. On October 7, a middle-aged man had molested a girl, on complaint the accused was arrested by the police. To avenge the insult of the accused father, his son poured petrol on the girl and burnt her on October 12.

The girl who was burnt by pouring petrol on Dussehra in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh died late Thursday night during treatment. The girl, who was seriously injured in the incident, was undergoing treatment at MY Hospital in Indore. The girl died six days later. The accused who killed the girl is the son of the accused who molested her.

Today, on Friday, after the post-mortem, the body of the girl will be brought to Khandwa. The police had registered a case of attempt to murder against the accused youth in the case and arrested him and sent him to jail. Along with this, action has also been taken against his family members under restrictive sections. Now more sections will be added against the accused youth.

According to the information, a case of molestation of a Dalit girl came to light on 7 October in a village adjacent to Khandwa district headquarters. On the complaint of the girl, the Kotwali police station took immediate action and arrested the accused Mangilal and presented him in the court, from where he was released on bail. After this, Arjun, son of accused Mangilal, threatened the victim to take revenge for the allegations against his father. The accused and his family also beat up the victim’s family, due to which the girl was under stress.

The incident was carried out on 12 October

On the day of Dussehra, on 12 October, accused Arjun poured petrol on the girl and set her on fire. The girl’s father immediately extinguished the fire and admitted the daughter to Khandwa District Hospital. In a statement given to the police, the victim said that the son of Mangilal, accused of molestation, poured petrol on her and set her on fire, after which the police arrested the accused Arjun and sent him to jail.

Family in shock due to daughter’s death

The girl, who was severely burnt in the incident, was admitted to Indore’s MY Hospital for better treatment, where she died during treatment late Thursday night. Since then, the family is in shock and is crying bitterly. The girl’s post-mortem will be done on Friday and the body will be brought to Khandwa, where she will be cremated. Police will add more sections in the case registered against accused Arjun.

Khandwa police is being negligent

Even after this incident, Khandwa district’s Moghat police station is not taking molestation cases seriously. On October 14, a girl was first molested under Moghat police station, then she was hit on the head. Due to which she was seriously injured, even after this, the police registered a case in the matter four days later i.e. on the evening of October 17. Regarding this, the family accused the police that the accused youth is a minor, so the police was trying to settle the matter through compromise. But, we were not ready for this.
