Deep Singh, Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party and Mayawati have intensified work on the policy of strengthening their position in the politics of Uttar Pradesh. In view of the preparations for the by-elections and assembly elections 2027, BSP has made changes in its organization. Now there will be two committees in every division. BSP, which was keeping distance from Muslims till now, has given them a place in the sector and divisional committees. They have also been given the responsibility of connecting the Muslim community. After the poor performance in the Lok Sabha elections, BSP is busy strengthening its organization. Committees from booth to district level have already been formed. 60% Dalits were made office bearers in the district level committees.
The party is eyeing the return of its core voters. Now it wants to connect Muslims with the party as well. BSP feels that if some share of Muslims also stands with it, then its support base can increase again. After the meeting of the National Executive, they have made changes in the sector and divisional committees keeping this in mind.
