After the video went viral, Jabalpur Railway SP has line attached GRP station in-charge Aruna Bahne and given the investigation of the case to the Deputy Superintendent of Police. Congress has taken an aggressive stand on this matter. Former Chief Minister Kamal Nath has described the lives of Dalits in Madhya Pradesh as unsafe.

This elderly woman and her grandson are residents of Jharra Tikuria village of Katni district. When Madam got tired, then 4 people from the staff held the hands and brutally beat the elderly woman and her grandson with sticks.

There are 19 crimes registered against the son of the victim woman in GRP police station Katni. This youth is a monitored miscreant since 2017. Last year he was absconding in the crime of theft. A reward of 10 thousand was announced on him. In April 2024, orders were given to expel him from Katni district. His gang history sheet has been opened. At the same time, station in-charge GRP Katni Aruna Bahne has been line attached and the investigation of the entire case has been handed over to the Deputy Superintendent of Police Railway.”

In this case, former Chief Minister Kamal Nath tweeted, “The incident of brutal beating of a Dalit youth and woman by GRP police in Katni, Madhya Pradesh shows that the life of Dalits is not safe in Madhya Pradesh. The protectors are becoming their predators. CM sahab! When will the atrocities on Dalits stop.” Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad tweeted, “The whole country is ashamed of the gruesome incident at GRP police station in Katni district of Madhya Pradesh.” It is said that the police reached the grandmother and grandson while searching for the culprit. The police brought them to the police station for questioning on suspicion of theft and started giving them third degree torture.
