Lucknow News: Two accused of beating a Dalit sentenced to three years imprisonment

Shravasti. On Thursday, the court pronounced its verdict in the case of beating a Dalit in a land dispute in Tandwa Mahant’s Majra Bankati. Additional District Judge and Special Judge SC ST Avnish Gautam sentenced the two accused in the case to three years imprisonment and a fine of seven thousand rupees each.

14 years ago, a fight took place in a land dispute in Majra Bankati of village Tandwa Mahant of Ikouna police station area. In this case, Ikouna police registered a case against village resident Jivrakhan and village resident Mohammad Shami under sections including assault, threat to kill and SC ST Act and sent the charge sheet to the court. After hearing the case, on Thursday, Additional District Judge and Special Judge SC ST sentenced both of them to three years imprisonment and a fine of seven thousand rupees each.
