Dalit youth was tortured for 22 hours in the police station: DST constables beat him all night, said – they will implicate him in such a way that there will be no bail.
A case of keeping a Dalit youth in the police station for 22 hours and torturing him brutally has come to light. The incident took place at Behror police station in Kotputli-Behror district. 25 year old Dalit youth Ankit Mawar alleged that two constables took him to the police station and tortured him throughout the night. He climbed up with shoes in his hands. He was beaten heavily from the waist down. The whole body has turned blue. On Saturday, the youth gave a written complaint to Kotpuli-Behror SP Vandita Rana.
The youth along with his family members had reached Kotputli-Behror SP office on Saturday morning. He complained about the assault to the SP at Behror police station. After this, the victim also met Neemrana ASP Shalini Raj at around 1 pm and narrated her ordeal. The youth demanded strict action against the accused.
Ankit Mawar, son of Ravi Shankar said in the complaint – I live in Mohalla Jaitpur Ward No. 4 in Behror. Went near the electricity power house at 8 pm on Thursday 4th April. Constables Sanjay Dhankar and Kapil Sharma came here with the DST team from Behror police station. They took me to Behror police station. There they threw me on the ground and started beating me badly.
DSP Krishna Kumar was also present at that time. The constables beat him in front of the DSP. Crushed my hands and feet with shoes. Tortured with caste based words. Abused. During the fight they were saying to bring illegal pistol. Said- Will be implicated in such a case that there will be no bail. They kept me in the police station till 6 pm the next day on 5th April.
I was released after getting bail from the SDM on Friday. After reaching home, I along with my family reached Behror police station at 7 pm on Friday evening with a complaint, but my report was not registered. I reached District Hospital (Behror) at 8 pm on Friday night. Where the medical was done.
The youth says that he was arrested under sections of breach of peace and made to sign on blank paper. Sandeep and Kapil want to implicate me in a false case. These are the men of former MLA Baljeet Yadav. He had told me earlier also that either vote for Baljeet or else we will implicate you in a false case.
Constable Sanjay told – On the instructions of DSP Krishna Kumar, he took Ankit to the police station. The allegations of beating are false. It is not known who beat him. A case was registered under SC-ST Act on 24 February in Behror police station. Its investigation is with DSP Behror. Kaluram Meghwal, resident of Jaitpura locality, had filed the case.
In the report, Kaluram had told that his son Ravindra was going on a bike. During this time, bike riders attacked him with sticks, sticks and rods near Santoshi Mata Temple on Tasing Road (Behror). Ravindra suffered serious injuries in this.
In the report given in the police station, Ankit Mawar and another Anurag Mehra were accused of giving information about Ravindra to the criminals. The matter was disclosed by former DSP Tej Kumar Pathak but the police investigation was not completed. Ankit Mawar was called for investigation because he was named in the report.
DSP Krishna Kumar said- The matter has come to my notice. Investigation will be done. We will take action against whoever is guilty. I did not call anyone to the police station. I am getting information from the SHO about who brought it and why. Constables Sanjay Dhankar and Kapil have been posted in DST for a long time.
An attempt was made to talk to SP Vandita Rana and Neemrana ASP Shalini Raj regarding this matter, but both did not receive the phone.
