Jabalpur: There is tension and silence in the area after the dead body of an 8 year old Dalit girl was found in the pond on the evening of Holi. Four days after the death of the girl at Padaria, Panagar’s residence, the police have still not found any clue. The family members of the girl are saying that after some untoward incident happened to the girl, she was murdered and the body was thrown in the pond.

The girl had gone to the village temple

Family members say that their daughter had gone to the temple located near the village at 6 o’clock in the evening of Holi. When the girl did not return home after a long time, the family members started searching for the girl but could not find her. At around 9 pm, they get information that their daughter’s dead body is being lowered into the village pond. The family members reached the pond at night itself and took out the girl’s body from the pond.

Police sent for post mortem

After receiving information about the dead body, the police of Panagar police station reached the spot and sent the girl’s body to the medical college for post-mortem. Police are investigating the reasons for the girl’s death. There is silence in the village after this incident. After this incident, there is silence in the Anganwadi office located in the village. Anganwadi workers are also hesitant in going to office due to fear.

People are not sending the child

Anganwadi worker Vrinda Bhumiya says that after this incident the villagers are not sending their children to the Anganwadi office. There are liquor bottles lying around the Anganwadi and they too are feeling scared after this incident. The people of the village are also hesitant in sending their children to Anganwadi after this incident.

Liquor shop set on fire

The villagers are also considering the liquor shop located near the village as the reason for this incident. The people of the village say that since the opening of the liquor shop in the village, there is a crowd of alcoholics. Angered by the incident, the villagers also set fire to the liquor shop on the second day of the incident.

No one came after the incident

Here the victim’s family is sad that no one has come to take care of them after the incident. Even four days after the incident, the police have not reached any conclusion.
