Bullies beat Dalit women brutally, set fire to huts
In Motihari (Bihar), a case of bullies assaulting a Dalit family and setting fire to their hut has come to light. Four women were injured in this incident.
A case of miscreants assaulting a Dalit family and setting their house on fire has come to light in Pakridayal police station area of East Champaran district. Four women were injured in the fight, who are undergoing treatment in Sadar Hospital. On receiving information about the incident, Pakridayal DSP Subodh Kumar reached the spot with his team and investigated the incident.
The victim’s family appealed to the police: The incident took place in Dubrabana village of Pakridayal police station area. A video of this incident has also surfaced, in which the house is seen on fire, while some people are beating the women. The victim’s family has applied to the police station and lodged an FIR regarding the incident. In this regard, DSP Subodh Kumar said that raids are being conducted to arrest the accused.
What is the whole matter?: According to the information received, some Dalit families in Dubrabana village have been living in huts on government land for years. Some people have bought land behind that government land, those who bought the land asked the Dalits who built houses on the Sarka land to remove their huts, many Dalits removed their huts. But Paswan’s family did not remove their hut. Due to which the bullies who bought the land behind set Mahendra Paswan’s house on fire and publicly beat his family with bamboo.
The victim narrated his ordeal: The victim Mahendra Paswan told that he and his children had gone to work in the fields. When the women of the house were burying pegs in the ground to tie the cattle. At the same time, twenty-five people from the village including Ram Janam Rai and Dinesh Rai came and started refusing to bury the peg. After that they set the house on fire and beat the woman of the house badly.
Condition of a woman is critical: When we got information about the incident, we saw that the women of the house were badly injured. The police was informed about the incident, after which the police arrived. Four women were seriously injured due to the beating by the bullies, who were admitted to Referral Hospital Pakridayal for treatment. Seeing their serious condition, the doctors referred them to Sadar Hospital, the condition of one of them remains critical.
