Naidu denied rights of Dalits, Backward Classes: Minister
Visakhapatnam: Former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu clamped down on the rights of the dalits and the Backward Classes during his 14-year tenure, alleged state social welfare minister Merugu Nagarjuna.
YSRCP’s ‘samajika sadhikara’ bus yatra was conducted in Markapuram of Prakasam district on Monday, the ninth day since the launch of the yatra. YSRCP regional coordinator V Vijayasai Reddy, ministers Adimulapu Suresh and Merugu Nagarjuna, MLAs Kunduru Nagarjuna Reddy and Balineni Srinivas Reddy, and other senior party leaders participated in the day’s events.
“In contrast to the Naidu’s dreadful rule, chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has introduced several welfare schemes aimed at achieving social justice and economic progress of the downtrodden sections of the society. Naidu is an incessant liar. It is worth recalling how Naidu made 650 promises in the 2019 elections and deceived farmers and the general public,” said Nagarjuna.
State municipal minister Adimulapu Suresh said that the CM announced the establishment of a medical college in Markapuram.
“Additionally, the Veligonda project, aimed at supplying both drinking and irrigation water to the local farmers, will be completed by December. Naidu is a cheater. He has not only cheated the public but also mocked the judiciary,” said the minister. The YSRCP’s Samajika Sadhikara bus yatra also simultaneously took place in Gajuwaka in Visakhapatnam district and Kakinada on Monday.
Referring to Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan as ‘package star’ at the Gajuwaka yatra, state minister Seediri Appala Raju said the winning of YSRCP candidate over Pawan Kalyan in 2019 elections from Gajuwaka itself reflects the public’s lack of confidence in Pawan.
Another minister Dharmana Prasada Rao termed the TDP as ‘migrant leaders’, who migrate from Hyderabad to Andhra Pradesh only to remain relevant and in power. “Those who are opposing Visakhapatnam as the capital are stalling development of the state,” he said.
