Salempur. In Pipra Devraj village of Bhatni area, some people thrashed the couple for plowing Batahi’s field. On Tuesday, on the complaint, the police have registered a case of SC / ST etc. on four including the village head. After the action, the police is probing the matter.
In Pipra Devraj village of Bhatni, Gyanati Devi has taken the farm of a villager on share. She was getting the field plowed on Friday. Only then the head of the village, Awadhesh Singh, Prabhunath Singh arrived with his family and started beating the couple, claiming that it was their land. People who reached after hearing the noise intervened and saved the victims. On the Tahrir of Gyanati Devi, the police have registered a case against Prabhunath Singh, village head Awadhesh Singh, Raju Singh and Ritesh Singh under various sections including assault, threatening to kill, SC/ST Act. SO Virendra Kushwaha told that on the complaint, a case of Dalit harassment has been registered against four people including the village head. The jurisdictional officer Bhatparrani is investigating the case.
