654 cast vote from home in Hisar
Hisar: As part of the home voting initiative for elderly and disabled voters, 654 out of 1,173 electors in the district have cast their ballots. District election officer Pradeep Dahiya said as per the instructions of the Election Commission, elderly voters above 85 years of age and persons with disabilities (PwDs) with 40% benchmark disability were given the opportunity to ‘vote from home’ and were asked to fill Form 12-D to avail the facility.
To ensure transparency of the electoral process, videography of the entire voting process is also being done. Postal ballot nodal officer Rajesh Khoth said on the first day of voting from home, 126 out of 213 voters in Adampur assembly, 130 out of 235 voters in Uklana assembly, 60 out of 90 in Narnaund assembly, 94 out of 161 in Hansi assembly, 48 out of 106 in Barwala assembly, 53 out of 72 in Hisar assembly, 143 out of 296 in Nalwa assembly, and 654 out of 1,173 in the entire district availed the ‘vote from home’ facility.
