5, including minors, booked for assaulting and harassing 17-year-old dalit boy in Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol
BHOPAL: Five persons, including three minors, were booked on Saturday for allegedly assaulting a 17-year-old Dalit boy in Shahdol district. The accused also forced the victim to crouch like a chicken and caw like a crow.
A video of the act went viral on social media prompting police to take action.
All accused involved, the victim and accused, are minors and residents of the Singhpur Road locality.
“After the video went viral and came to our notice, investigations were started and the victim was identified. So far, three accused have been found and two others are yet to be identified,” Shahdol Kotwali police station incharge, Raghvendra Tiwari, told TOI.
The accused were charged under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and efforts were on to nab them, the official added.
