Kanpur: A woman from the Dalit community filed a complaint alleging kidnapping and sexual assault of her minor daughter by a neighbouring youth in Unnao’s Sadar Kotwali area. The police registered a case on Monday and took a person into custody for questioning.
According to the complainant, on Dec 8, her 13-year-old daughter was closing their house door when their neighbour, forcibly abducted her in a vehicle. The accused allegedly used a sedative substance on her face causing to lose consciousness.
Upon regaining consciousness, the girl noticed some more occupants in the vehicle. She accused the man and others of sexual assault. Subsequently, the perpetrators left her on a village road, threatening to harm her brother if she disclosed the incident to anyone.
The victim initially kept silent about the ordeal due to fear and humiliation, but eventually revealed it to her elder sister, who informed their mother.
The victim, who lost her father, is currently undergoing medical examination as part of the investigation, as confirmed by Circle Officer Sonam Singh, who said that a case was registered against the accused.
