Indefinite fast ended after BSA arrived with letters to Indian School Certificate Examinations and Central Board of Secondary Education for action against private schools ehich denied admission under RTE !
The indefinite fast started by Sandeep Pandey at Gandhi statue, Hazratganj, Lucknow yesterday ended when the Basic Shiksha Adhikari arrived with the letters written to Indian School Certificate Examinations and Central Board of Secondary Education regarding the 8 private schools which have denied admissions to children belonging to disadvantaged groups and weaker sections under the Right to Education Act to the fast site. In these letters the Boards have been requested to take legal action against St. Mary Inter College Janakipuram, St. Mary Inter College Matiyari, City International School Indira Nagar, Dr. Virendra Swaroop School Old Mahanagar, City Montessori School, Exxon Montessori School, Navyug Raidance School and Delhi Public School for their failure to admit students. We demand that the recognition of these schools be cancelled.

The District Magistrate, Lucknow has also agreed to take strict action against these schools. He has called a meeting of schools which are guilty of violating the RTE Act on 26/11/16 from 3 to 4 pm.
Given the state of financial emergency because of demonetisation which has become a cause of hardship for the common citizens it was decided to suspend the larger demands, related to implementation of judgment of High Court Justice Sudhir Agarwal that children of all receiving government salaries must study in government schools or implementation of common school system or nationalisation of all private schools, for now.
